As your MCBA Team works to strengthen the value of your investment into the organization, we want to share with you our upcoming strategy to build more traffic to the Membership Directory to enhance your Investor/business experience.

Over the next several weeks we will be running a social media campaign to drive traffic to the MCBA website, specifically to the Membership Directory page. Our goal is to provide the buying consumer and business community a trusted resource as they look to source both goods and services for their personal and business use. Think "Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval" resource. We will position this page as the "go to" resource for buying local.

With that in mind, we encourage to visit your Info Hub and review your content to be sure that it is up to date and appears the way that you prefer so others can successfully connect with you. Explore the site and have fun taking advantage of special investors-only access. Watch this video tour to get the most from your Hub with things such as:

  • Directory listings - your contact information as well as other investors is available in the "members only" hub.
  • Personalizing your listing page - included in the directory is your own information page on the website which can include a description area, location, logo, photos and contact details based on your membership level.
  • Investor payments - use the Hub to manage your membership and payments.
  • Resources- being part of our association includes access to key sites, documents and other information to help you thrive in our community. Check out the resource area to learn more.
  • Career Center– create a posting for any job openings you have available - gain visibility and help recruit new employees.
  • Hot Deals – add an online coupon to share on our site and attract users to your business. Take advantage of deals offered by other members too!
  • News - Share exciting and important information with our community. Enter your news item to be added to our site.

The Monroe County Link Plan 2.0 All Pillar Team and Stakeholder

meeting was held on June 23rd at Monroe County Community College.  46 community stakeholders representing local government officials, businesses, community agencies, non-profits, educators, and volunteers were in attendance. There were thirteen new stakeholders in attendance. The Community College graciously hosted the meeting.

The meeting was facilitated by OHM, the consulting team who led the development of Link Plan 1.0 and is now collaborating with local stakeholders to develop Link Plan 2.0.  The Link Plan is the County’s economic development strategy.

The agenda included:

1) Project Overview

2) Review of Link Plan 1.0 accomplishments

3) Review of existing market conditions.

The four Pillar Teams participated separately in breakout sessions to work on mission, vision and to identify their respective Team strengths, challenges, and obstacles for Link Plan 2.0.

The meeting included some fun! Several stakeholders played a game of Monroe County Feud that tested their knowledge of the county’s history.  It was a great way to break the ice and get everyone relaxed.

The Teams will meet virtually in August to debrief the June 23rd meeting. In the interim, OHM will continue to develop Link Plan 2.0.

If you are interested in participating on a Pillar Team, you may contact me at or at 419-654-1934.

The four Pillar Teams are:

  1. Prepare for Investment—Commercial, Industrial, Residential Development
  2. Talent Development—Career Technical Education, Post-secondary, Adult-learners
  3. Launch 734—Entrepreneurship, Business development
  4. Michigan’s Cornerstone—Quality of life, Housing, Image and brand
